Who are your speakers?

Noel Meador

Noel Meador is the co-author of the OXYGEN retreat curriculum and has written extensively about high-stressed couples. He will be sharing how the curriculum is used to equip First Responders with the tools they need to be successful in their relationship. 

Shawn Barnes

Shawn brings over 15 years of law enforcement experience to Stronger Families, with a focus on mental health, substance use intervention, and wellness. He has led critical programs and offers expertise in training, tactical operations, and stakeholder engagement. A gifted public speaker and instructor, Shawn has presented nationwide and is the only police officer to receive the Frank M. Adams Award for volunteer service to mental health systems. As an Advanced Peace Officer, he holds over 3,700 hours of accredited training from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. Shawn lives in Corpus Christi, TX, with his wife Amy and their three children.

Nick Bickley

Nick began his law enforcement career in eastern Washington and served with distinction in various roles, including Patrol Sergeant, Field Training Officer, and Firearms Instructor for pistol, rifle, and red dot optics. He taught criminal justice courses at Spokane Community College and served on the Spokane Regional Criminal Justice Advisory Committee. His awards include the Medal of Valor, Medal of Courage, Life Saving Award, and Officer of the Year (2022). Now at Stronger Families, Nick continues his passion for training and service. He lives in Washington with his wife, Alisha, and their four children—and loves golf, hunting, and fishing.
